Firstly congratulations to Leah!!! I am absolutely loving your style choice, lets call it Island Resort! Its crisp and clean, yet adds personality into their amazing new home! Leah and her husband have two gorgeous wee kiddies and a dog. The area chosen to be updated is their living and dining room, let the good times roll. She is loving blacks, greens, whites and creams. This is really on trend at the moment, which is great, it means there are heaps of bits a pieces around to create the look. It’s fresh fun and fabulous.
Leah attached the above image to her brief. It is a great way to communicate the look your going for. I have taken some colours from within the print to create a colour palette. Blacks and whites work really easily with many different looks, so I have chosen to use these in the big ticket items. If Leah wants to try another style/colour palette in future, she can by changing the less expensive items like cushions and accessories. I have softened these stronger colours by using soft timber tones.
Leah’s great grandma brought some Rattan / Silky oak armchairs over from NZ, pictured above. Getting them restored in a fun new fabric, will give them a new lease of life. How perfect to have these chairs with a long history in the family, be loved all over again. Items like this always make a house feel more like a home.
It has been really fun to work on this design, I hope Leah has as much fun living in it!
