Moody Monday – Hamptons

Hamptons is a classic style that never goes out of fashion.  I love the relaxed coastal vibe and use of natural materials.  I like the way you feel when you walk into the light and airy space, and can almost smell the sea breeze {maybe you really can or just maybe its your little bit of coast hidden in the burbs!}.  This style comes from the Hampton’s (stating the obvious huh?), where wealthy New Yorkers retreat to their sophisticated summer homes.  The style can be loosely interpreted with quality fabrics and finishes, a few rustic pieces (think French and English country influences) and an overall sense of balance.

The key to creating a seamless look is to pick a colour palette and stick to it.  Introduce texture to give the style depth.  Use natural materials, like linens & light timbers.  Choose an accent colour that is inspired by nature {blue and green tones work perfectly here}, to keep a sense of calm.  Overall choices need to be kept light and breezy.

Lets kick those Monday blues and drink in some sophisticated Hamptons Style dining rooms (Images via Pinterest)…. and pretend we are all sitting around the table with a nice summer cocktail in our hands!

Each of these images introduces the Hamptons Style, but does so in an individual way.  I have also created a little Monday Monday Style board for you with some hints on where to find the products! Enjoy
