Winter Woolies

I live in Queensland and lets face it, it doesn’t get really, really cold here {I have lived in cold, I know what that feels like!}.  This morning it does feel rather chilly, so lets talk blankets!  I love a good throw and a snuggle on the couch.  Lucky for us there are so many options with blankets, for me its the comfort and feel of a blanket before looks.  But looks are important too aren’t they? Lets face it, you want to proudly drape it over your sofa!} My number one crush at the moment is the chunky knit blanket, I am secretly hoping my mother will learn to knit and make me one, nothing better than a blanket made with love!

I tend to stick with a more neutral blanket, opting for texture over print and colour.   Then introduce some fun with accessories and cushions.  Of course a bold blanket choice can be your statement piece and work with it as inspiration for the rest of your accessories.

Design Tip ~ Lets say you pick a really loud print.  Then your stuck, what do you put with it?  Pick a colour you love in the print and then find some solid pieces (think cushions) in different tones and textures.  These will work with the print, instead of fighting for attention!  Who wants to do that right?
